The details-
What is rustic camping? It means tent camping, no electric hookups, no showers or running water or flush toilets. There is a vault toilet and a hand pump for water. You can choose to participate in group activities or just chill and do your own thing. This is a no-pressure event good for introverts and extroverts! Bring your tent, hammock, cooler, bug spray, sunscreen, chairs, snacks, communal dinner offering, kayak or tube, fishing gear (license required), and any personal items you may need. Bring your journal, we will have a craft station available. Bring your favorite tarot or oracle deck or spooky story to tell around the campfire or any musical instrument. We will provide all the essentials, such as water, paper towels, foil, firewood, condiments, breakfast, and base food for cooking dinner (lots of food from Lorin’s home garden) We will have vegetarian options available.
You will need to have a recreation passport on your license plate or pay at the gate for entry for the weekend. The ticket cost for the weekend is $77 for non-members, $60 for Black Cat Bodega members. If you want to tip your activity leader, you are more than welcome to but tipping is not mandatory. We are keeping the event affordable for all as we want to celebrate with you! You do not have to stay all 3 nights, but the ticket cost is the same either way. Just let us know during sign up what days you will be camping.
We will have communal-style cooking for dinner with cooking equipment, spring water, condiments, tea, and coffee available for the group at all times. Please bring something to share to make communal dinner meals, such as a dish to pass or meat or vegetables to add to the community cook pot. Lorin will cook breakfast for everyone buffet style. We will be cooking on a charcoal grill and the campfire.
Dinner, we will ask for a couple of volunteers each night to help us prepare meals and group effort to help clean up after all meals. Lunch will be, do your own thing, so bring snacks or lunch supplies for yourself. If you have serious food allergies we ask that you bring your own food as it will be difficult to accommodate for all allergies.
To keep this eco-friendly we ask everyone to bring your own reusable tableware. We will have a wash station set up for washing dishes. If you happen to forget something, we will have extras if needed.
